FAQ
Fair questions, straight answers.
What is Shotsheet, in one breath?
A place where your studio plans every day of a shoot, gets the plan reviewed and approved, and hands shooters something that works from a phone. Shot lists with camera settings, references, chat, and a client-ready PDF at the end.
Who is it for?
Photo and video studios that shoot events — weddings, engagements, corporate, launches. It grew up inside a working event studio, so multi-day shoots with multiple shooters — weddings, launches, festivals — are its home turf. A one-person studio works just as well; you're simply admin, planner, and shooter at once.
How do roles work?
Three of them. Admins approve plans, manage the team, and set studio branding. Planners build plans and submit them for review. Shooters get read-only access to shoot-ready plans on their phones — nothing half-finished ever reaches them.
How does my team join?
Invite links. An admin creates a link with a role attached; anyone who opens it lands directly in your studio with that role — the join screen shows them your studio's name and logo before they sign up. Links last 30 days, work for as many people as you want, and can be revoked anytime. You can also lock any member out instantly without deleting their work.
What does the AI actually do — and what does it learn from?
It drafts shot cards: descriptions, framing, movement, and camera settings you edit instead of write, and it reviews a full day's plan like a senior producer would. It learns your studio's voice only from your studio's approved plans — never from anyone else's, and no other studio learns from yours.
Do shooters need to install anything?
No app store, no accounts to configure. Shotsheet is a web app — open it on a phone, add it to the home screen, and it behaves like an app. You'll want a data connection on site; the shoot-day view is deliberately light.
Can clients see the plan?
Clients get the PDF — a clean run-of-show with your logo on the cover and your brand color through the pages. The workspace itself stays internal to your team.
Is my studio's work private?
Yes, structurally. Every studio is isolated at the database level — plans, chat, references, even the AI's sense of your style. It isn't a setting someone can misconfigure; the walls are enforced by the database itself. Data is hosted in Canada.
How does the free trial work?
14 days, every feature, no card required. When it ends your work stays viewable and exportable forever — you just can't build new plans until you choose Solo ($19/mo) or Studio ($49/mo) on the Pricing page. Canadians see CA$ pricing at checkout automatically.
Can I get my data out?
Plans export as PDFs anytime. Want everything deleted, or a full export? Email info@shotsheet.app and it's handled.
I run shoots differently — will this fight me?
The pipeline (draft → review → approved → shoot ready → wrapped) is opinionated on purpose, but everything inside it is yours: your event types, your look presets, your settings vocabulary, your pace. Small crews can move a plan through in minutes.
